The valley called Hochpustertal consists of two parts – South Tyrol and East Tyrol. From Sillian to Lienz, the Hochpustertal runs on the east-Tyrolean side and in its beauty and variety is a true paradise for everyone who wants to experience untouched nature. In the Hochpustertal you can experience mountain after mountain. In a landscape that is unique to its own, you will experience many great hikes – for example, on the Karnischen or Gailtaler Höhenweg (high trail).
The Lesachtal is a parallel valley of the Hochpustertal and is imbedded between the Karnisch Alps in the south and the Lienzer Dolomites in the north. It stretches for a length of 60 kilometres. As one of the most beautiful valleys of its kind, the Lesachtal was voted by the international Friends of Nature club as “Landscape of the Year” and by the European press “most environmentally friendly valley of Europe”. The farm culture and the lived tradition still today are fixed parts of the Lesachtal and its inhabitants. Whoever is looking for peace and quiet and at the same time wants to experience the power of nature, is in exactly the right place in the Lesachtal.
